Legendary Shane Warne picks the best Australia XI for Ashes

The intriguing Ashes battle between Australia and England is closing in on which is just 11 days away from the blistering pace. The first of the five-match Ashes series is scheduled to be played on November 23 at The Brisbane, Gabba. Legendary Shane Warne has come up with the best eleven players of Australia for the Ashes.

Shane Warne has claimed that the team management has made two poor decisions that affected them in their conversion process. Warne said that the decision to drop Brad Haddin in place of Nevill and Nevill shouldn’t have started ahead of Matthew Wade exactly 1 year ago was one of the poorest decisions.

Australia should not make the ‘third’ mistake:

Whatever has happened has happened so far and one must not regret the decisions that are been taken already. This has to be taken it as an experience so that it won’t happen again in the future according to Shane Warne who believes that Wade will be up to the scratch this time.

“Twelve months ago, Matthew Wade should never have been given another opportunity to keep for Australia but leaving him out now would be an even bigger selection blunder. There has been a succession of stuff-ups with the keepers — Brad Haddin should not have been dropped for Nevill, Nevill should not have been booted for Wade. We’ve twice made poor decisions. Let’s not do it a third time,” said Warne according to Fox Sports.

Glenn Maxwell is one of those guys who can be the potential match-winners according to Warne. “All teams need matchwinners and make no mistake, Maxi is one of those. Yes, we will shake our heads and roll our eyes occasionally, but we have to accept the odd horror and enjoy his best when it comes off. He makes things happen in all facets of the game but needs encouragement from the leaders to express himself,” Warne added.

“He’s bowling wonderfully well — Steve Smith needs to use him as an impact bowler, a bit like Michael Clarke used Mitchell Johnson,” Warne said.
